Occasionally, the patient will have some sensitivity during this stage of the procedure. For extra-sensitive teeth, the dentist may prescribe medication to help put the person at ease during the final portions of the veneer placement.

Sensitivity after getting veneers

For other patients, the discomfort comes once the dentist puts the veneers in place and the numbness has worn off. The patient may feel sensitivity while eating certain foods or drinking hot or cold beverages. The person should be aware of what brings out these feelings. Often, the sensitivity goes away after a few days. If the concerns persist, the patient should speak to the dentist about getting long-term relief from the irritation.
