Wondering why so many people are choosing CEREC crowns nowadays when they need one or more crowns placed in their mouth? The reason is that the entire process of getting one or more CEREC crowns is extremely convenient, and convenience is what every dental patient wants these days. People are so very busy, which means they simply find it difficult to find the time to see their dentist on a regular basis. Now that a dental patient can get diagnosed, measured and have any necessary crowns installed all on the very same day of the first inquiring visit, many more people are getting the crowns they need for good oral health.
The convenience of using CEREC
CEREC uses advanced dental technology to create crowns on the very same day a patient needs them. Some crowns are still being sent out to off-site labs so they can be made and this process takes at least a couple of weeks to complete. This means that a dental patient will need to wear a temporary crown until the permanent crown is made. This also means that the patient will need to come back for another dental appointment in order to have the dentist remove the temporary crown and put on the permanent crown.
Because a CEREC machine can make crowns the same day a patient needs them, the patient is getting their crown dental treatment much more quickly. This means that the patient will be on their way back to good oral health much faster, too.
About crown installation
When a patient is in need of a crown, a professional dentist will first give them an anesthetic so they do not feel anything. They will then prepare the tooth for the crown by shaping it a certain way, which helps the crown stay permanently attached to the tooth. Once the crown is made, it will be cemented to the natural tooth, ultimately making it stronger and keeping it in its proper place.
